The N70 Labrax Special from HTO is a sea bass rod with high ambitions and takes its name from the N70 nebula. A fishing rod named after such an immense and powerful entity has to be special, and it is. This is the very best bass blank HTO has ever built, we believe it to be one of the finest sea bass rods ever made for the British and European bass angler. The price of this rod was the very last thing we had in mind when we set out on a trip to the N70. We wanted to make the very best sea bass rod we could, without compromise. The blank itself is made of 40 tons of Carbon from the well-known Japanese manufacturer Mitsubishi. Finally, a layer of 45 degree spiral carbon tape is wrapped around the blank, giving it an extra layer of protection and a unique spiral look that does not compromise the performance of the blanks. This build process makes the rod as light as a feather, crunchy and with an extra fast action that hits bait at a distance with pinpoint accuracy, while maintaining the very best lure handling action to their highest level of efficiency and appeal. Fuji Titanium Framed Torzite 2 K spin guides are mounted on the blank. We chose these guides because they are super light to fit into the feather-light blank, they are also very efficient. Their design drastically reduces line twisting and gives the line much more direct movement through the guides for more efficient and accurate casting. They are suitable for braid, fluorocarbon and monofilament. A Fuji VSS reel seat completes the rod, with a Winn handle that is soft to the touch, offers excellent grip and is light.
