A brilliant rig for outsmarting shy carp. What makes this rig so special? Carp in heavily fished waters have been known to hook bite after taking some baits. These carp then often just “play” with the bait.

You pick it up slowly and feel resistance from the leader or hook and spit it out again. This is not the case with the bungy rig. The rig stretches (the elastic stretches with it) and as the armabraid stretches in the elastic, the hook tip shoots inward. After taking the bait, a carp will hardly be able to get rid of the hook with this rig, as the bungy elastic creates a lot of counter pressure on the tip of the hook. This will cause the carp to panic and eventually swim away and be perfectly hooked.
